My 2nd Grade Teacher Ms. Waits is the focus behind the titled story as-well-as the inspiration for this entire book. She was amazing working with me, this little boy with heart diseases that often fell behind. It's been 47 years but I can still hear her say "don't worry just do your best, you have been practicing, you have this".
